This skill is helping my develop my own style of writing which is something I constantly strive to be better at. Since I take more pride in my writing ability it allows me to challenge myself and push my skill set. When we are given time to write a paper, I have began to write many drafts until I finally finish the perfect. If I was a writing teacher, I would have my students write both fun, creative stories and boring, research papers. I think this would make them more excited about writing but they would also have to learn how to write research papers.

When I thought about my essay I realized I never truly revised my essays, I just cleaned it up a little then turned it in. Making sure there is minimal grammar errors is important, because it will make it easier for the readers to understand the essay, just like the sentence and thesis errors. When I would review my drafts for each essay, I started to look harder for these errors with each essay as the class progressed. I started to find more and more errors that I know I would not have found in the beginning of this class.

I do not want that to happen in my essays. I want to push myself to write outside of the class to practice what have we learned until I know I will not and cannot forget it. Another goal is to better understand the rules of grammar, even though I am mostly able to implement them, I am still slightly unsure of when they are used. My third goal would be to clearly communicate my thoughts in the form of an essay. The most effective thing we did in class was peer reviewing others essays because I got to see different writing styles and different ideas on how to incorporate my evidence better or different choice of words. Even though I have developed good skills for the future, I still have struggles in my writing.

This class has helped me to recognize what I struggle with in writing so in the future I can recognize it and improve on my weaknesses. Thereafter, I learned and begun trying to avoid unnecessary repetition which has helped improve my grade on the essays. Also, from reading the smart thinking reports really helped me to realize what my weaknesses were in my writing and how to turn them into strengths. I will also need practice so I can get better and better each time and my last paper can be my best. I plan to go to the writing center and get help with my grammar ,because I still need to work on it.

As a thinker I plan to again learn and listen to the professor, and then apply it to my work. What I want to accomplish in this semester is just to become the best writer I can be and alway do my best. I would like to earn an A in this class and continue to work on my writing skills. Secondly, while creating my writing piece I was reminded how to properly format and structure as well as choose better use of language.
